THANK YOU ALPINE!!
A few weeks ago we got to go with Bart and family and ride in this bad boy in a parade. We had a blast throwing candy.
Afterwards there was a community fun day that we stayed for. The children spent a lot of their time like this. Waiting in line to either go down the big slide or to play in the bouncy house. They all did pretty good being patient.
Max and Nora were a little timid about the big slide so Nathan helped them out.
As you can see . . . He is a pro.
Nora finally got up the courage to do it on her own. Max did too.
At the end of the day they had a critter chase. They divided into age groups and then were let loose to capture some unsuspecting animals. If they catch an animal they get to keep it! Or they can trade the animal in for a prize. Nora and Max's group had new albino bunnies to try to catch.
They were not successful and were heartbroken. They thought for sure that they were going to catch them and keep them for their own. It was very traumatic.
Nora lucked out and was able to hold another person's bunny for awhile. She was still very upset and talks about having her own bunny still.
Nathan and Caleb's group had larger rabbits. They were runners and went all over the place. Nathan and Caleb were also not effective rabbits catchers, thank goodness!
The older age groups chased chickens and the last group was this pig. The boy who caught it was bit by the pig and was bleeding. He did not want the pig so they auctioned it off. It was a lot of fun to watch. Overall it was a great day and we can't wait to do another parade with Bart.
